No, he/she has got a sibling walking here too. At first I thought it was one only, but then I discovered the other one on the other side of the house – impossible to run that fast! So, they are two!
They are the most adorable wild animal I know, but they are full of flies. So glad it’s not alone … I’m sure the parents are around somewhere. Put out a saucer with water with a few small drops of milk .. that was what my grandma did to her family.
Yes, only milk is not at all good for them. My friend Anita made waffles for them – they went into her kitchen the whole family and ate!
You’re milk is no good, they stomach collapses, but a little milk so they get the smell. I love the story about your friend waffles – what a lovely story. So get the iron out, A-C!
♥ Why not!
I’ve also never seen one ”in the wild” like this, A-C. Very cute, but now the bite on my ankle is itching. The power of suggestion. 🙂
I am! We have one or two every year, but this year two little ones. 2018, that horribly hot summer, they all died. Dried out and no food. I tried cat food, but all the cats in the neighborhood came along…
Those cute little critters are some I’d love to see around my yard. So cute! 🦔
🙂 They are – unfortunately one of them died last week. I cried the whole day. He is now buried under the roses!
Oh I’m so sorry. I know what hell that is. Crying for weeks isn’t unusual. Our pets are part of our family! You take care. 💙
♥ You too.
The English name for this animal clearly comes from hedge + hog. I checked to see what you call it in Swedish and found igelkott.
Yes, that is right, igelkott. Igel from Greek εχίνος (echinos) and kott from something round.
My heart is melting. Is it alone???

😀 Indeed – itching here as well…
Nice! I’ve never seen one of these in a yard! You’re really kind of fortunate!

Such interesting creatures!!!
They are – having survived through millenia is remarkable.
Nice. Never had the opportunity to see one other than in a controlled environment.
They are very sweet and adorable creatures. These shots from my window and quite far away – but just had to!
Well spotted! Jack used to go crazy with barking when he heard the hedgehog outside at night. I could never hear them but he could.
Mille was the same.
I love hedgehogs
♥
Aww! The fleas are biting….
They are!
😊
Sweet! Wish we had hedgehogs here. 🙂
Mmm, I am so grateful – they are lovely. Only don’t touch them because of the many fleas…
Wonderful friend, dear Anne-Christine. How do you call him/her?
I only call him my friend – but I talk to him quietly and wonder how his day is going, reminding him not to eat too many plums.
🙂 🙂 🙂 Hedgehogs are wonderful creatures. I suppose if you give him name it will make him happy. 🙂
Then I will give them all names – ♥♥♥
So very cute!
♥ Just had to catch these even if it was through the window.
How lovely. They’re becoming worryingly rare in the UK. I haven’t seen a live one this year. Several dead ones though – roadkill. 😦
I am so grateful to have two little ones and their mum here. Many roadkills every year – always afraid when I don’t see ”my” hedgehogs for some days.
Keep on caring for them – I’m sure you will.
Mmm, I will. They are not going into hibernation in a month or so.
Love hedgehogs. Great slug eaters and cute too.
No negative things at all at all then! ♥
So cute!
Isn’t he! This year we have two little ones. Shot through the window – just had to catch his different faces!
Fantastic, looks like he was having a good stretch as well 😃
Oh, he was! He looked much like my dogs.
