For Cee this week – a Bhutanese woman trekking up to the monastery, Tiger’s Nest, 3200 meters up. Thin air and tough, steep paths. But she was faster than most of us and had no difficulties whatsoever, it seemed. She offered me some nuts to keep up the pace. So sweet – they all were. I bet they all smiled to themselves seeing us westerners sweating and panting…
She was 76
She is in a happy place. Their devotion and faith are humbling.
It is – everything about this country and its people is humbling.
Så fint fotografi av en till synes levnadsglad och positiv kvinna.
Tack, Anita. Hon bjöd på sig själv och var fullständigt ljuvlig. Fin hela hennes familj.
That’s a lovely portrait!
Thank you – she was a lovely lady.
Lovely portrait. She seems to have short hair. That is perhaps a little unusual?
Yes, I think she looked very modern . But many older women had short hair. Men never wore beards – except for very old men with a thin, grey, long one.
Very interesting. In Nepal almost all the women (including the Tibetans), no matter their age, had long hair (that was in the 1990s though)
They did? Well, maybe they still have.
Same age as me Leya and we walked up a mountain a couple of days ago, but not the steep way up. What a lovely kind face she has.
You are a tough lady as well! And kind too I believe.
I like to think so 😊
😚
Lovely!
😊
What a beautiful woman and filled with so much life and experience 😀
Thank you, yes! Behind her (!) came her daughter and her family. They could understand some English so we talked for a while (between my panting…).
