Skyr is a delicious Icelandic youghurt that has been a part of Icelandic cuisine for over a thousand years. It is traditionally served cold with milk and a topping of sugar. For a short while Skyr was available in our local food store (after my constant wishing for it…), but as it was rather expensive…I think they did not make enough profit from it…so, Iceland is the only option to get it…
But I love the taste of it and I love its Name!
Had Skyr a few years ago in Iceland and it is still the best yogurt I have tasted. I have just discovered you blog and photography and it’s a fun one. Best wishes. Brick
I am glad you think it is a fun one. Thank you for the follow and all the likes! I will pop over to yours as well. Saw you had something on the Camino.. 😚
We have Skyr!
Lucky you!!!
Yes. I love it. Had it the first time in Keflavik … was overjoyed to see it here.
I like your shot of it. Sounds delicious, although is seems odd to me to serve yogurt with milk. 🙂

The Icelandic people are odd…and the Skyr originates from Norway…
Detsamma! 🙂

I guess we are lucky…most of our Supermarkets stock Skyr. But we are also lucky as the range of organic yogurt’s has increased to a baffling array.
Sounds good!
Yet another good excuse to visit Iceland. 🙂
It is!
Looks delicious. Sorry to hear it is too expensive and not readily available.:(
