The first challenge of the year from WordPress is called Resolved. I have made two resolutions, and both are about blogging…Now that shows how much I am addicted to it!
I’m resolved to have my students start blogging. (The students at our school get a laptop of their own when they begin their studies here.)I believe it would be good for them to start a blog, and this for several reasons: They would learn how to build something useful…because many youngsters only use the computer for short messages on facebook or watching youtube. They would also, when blogging, meet different people and cultures, and they would have to use their imagination, learn disposition and to make better use of words and language. Unfortunately I cannot take a photo of this resolution, since the Christmas vacation is not over yet.
Instead I will show you something else that I am very resolved to go ahead with. In fact I have already started…I have bought myself a new digital camera, and I shall get to know it properly in order to take better photographs. To really (hopefully…) see the results, I have started My Photo Blog in which I will post at least one photo every day. By the end of the year, I hope to be able to see – and say to myself – that I have learned something new and improved my skills.
So, here’s my ”Resolved”:

What a clever photo that expresses both your resolutions! Wonderful! Good luck with the new blog and all your plans 🙂
Thank you! I’m already on my way together with another teacher who was hooked on my idea. We’ll start with one class (last year students) in February.

important: ”…They would, when blogging, meet different people and cultures…”
Yes – that’s important. When you are young and not so widely-travelled, this is an easy way to understand how much we have in common and how much we can learn from each other.

a photo a day, wonderful.
A lovely photo of an orchid((my favorite) and camera! 🙂
Thank you! That’s my favourite orchid too. It has just finished it’s flowers last week.
It really is/was a beauty again! Gives you so much pleasure when you get them to make flowers at home
They do! Orchids and hoyas are some of my favourites.
I quickly had to look up hoyas! I know them as waxplant, had one in a pot in South Africa. It gave me the most wonderful flowers each year. They also smell sweet at night.
They do! Yes, in Sweden we also call them waxplants, but hoya is their name in latin- Their scent when flourishing is all over the house. I love it, but my mother cannot visit then – the smell is too strong and she is too sensitive to that.
🙂
What a great resolve, Ann Christine. I should also learn how to use our new camera properly. I just pick it up and shoot, istead of reading the book that came with it. 🙂 I absolutely love your photo.
Thank you so much for your comment! That’s what I do too, mostly – shoot. The book is very thick…but I am really interested in reading it, practicing it. I just have to find the time!
Me too. 🙂
that’s a very sensitive and lovely photo.. sort of like a self portrait! z
Oh, this is such a lovely comment! To be interpreted just in anyway I like! Thank you, Lisa – the artist that never rests…you made my evening!
